Unit 6- La Casa

Testing for Milestone is almost over. The SLO post-test will be held on May 16th and May 17th.  In addition to reviewing for the SLO, we will continue with our normal scope of study.

Students are in Unit 6.  There will be a vocabulary test on Friday.
Objectives:
Students will be able to describe the house (rooms, size, color)
Students will be able to discuss numbers 0-1000.
Students will be able to discuss sleep, chores, and what they can and cannot do.
Students will give commands and tell what someone is doing using the present progressive.(ing)

Task Real Estate Agent: Due date: 4/28/16  5/2/2016
Student is a real estate agent in and needs to market properties to Spanish-speaking clients.
Directions:


  1. Name the Real Estate Company. (Ex-KASA Bienes  )
  2. Create a business card with a link to the online brochure.
  3. Students must market 4 properties in the form of a Prezi, online PowerPoint or Google slide presentation. (If technology is a problem students can do a live presentation to the class and paper brochure.
  4. Each listing should contain a picture of the property, the address, a bulleted list of the rooms, and a 3 sentence description of the property with a command sentence.
  5. Students should record themselves reading the feature property and add the file to the presentation.

Students will be able to discuss the family, express possession, and talk about what someone has.

There will be a test Monday, March 14 on the 5a vocabulary.

There will be a call in assessment for unit 5a/5b due by March 19th at 12 AM.

Students should call 678-337-1812 and complete the following:


  • Greet me
  • State their name and period
  • Students should describe their immediate family (tell me about 3 family members)
  • Tell me their names, relationship to the student, age, what they like and their personality.
  • Ask me a question about my family.
  • Say goodbye.

Due Friday, February 5, 2016
Group Project: Students may film inside or out of school.
Task: Write and film a commercial/public service announcement for how to maintain your health for teenagers.
Objectives:
1. Students will present rehearsed information on a variety of topics such as self, school, family, and home life.
2. Students will discuss foods, drinks, and activities to maintain health.
Written part:
Write a script for your commercial indicating who says which part.
Include at least 2 foods, 2 drinks, and 4 activities that can be helpful for maintaining health.
Include at least one food, one drink, and one activity that is bad for your health.
 Grading criteria:
20 pts: Script is written with accurate grammar and content.
20 pts: The idea is conveyed clearly and all required elements were present in script and video.
20 pts: Video was complete. Effort was made to present the information in a creative manner that is also clearly related to the topic.
20 pts: Pronunciation and spoken grammar is clear and easy to understand.

80 pts total possible.

Food Unit Ch. 3a and 3b

Students are testing on Ch. 3a Monday and will begin classwork on 3b on Tuesday.
If students were absent they must make up the 3a test upon returning to class.

Important: Students will have a  call in assessment due by Friday January 29, 2016 @ 11:59.

Students must do the following in Spanish.

  1. Greet me
  2. Tell me their name and what period they have Spanish.
  3. Tell me the time and date of their call.
  4. Students must tell me what they eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner,
  5. Students must tell me what they love to eat and why.
  6. Students must tell me what they never eat and why.
  7. Students must tell me what they do to maintain their health.
  8. Say good-bye.
Example:
Hola Sra. Hernandez.
Me llamo Mickey Mouse. Tengo la clase de Espanol en la segunda hora.
Hoy es el 30 de enero y son las ocho.
